I do have a new laptop which is why I have two laptops on my desk. I would love to say that I have one for each hand so I can create websites twice as fast but I don’t think you’d believe that :-).
I am transferring data from my old laptop to my new Windows 8.1 laptop. Now I’ve stopped cursing it and have some programs loaded it that make it do what I want we’re getting along fine.
The reason for getting a new laptop was to be more efficient for my clients. As programs are upgraded they take up more resources and my old laptop was beginning to slow down.
From my workspace you can also see that I’m a Doctor Who fan by looking at my mug. Yes I really am I geek and that’s okay. I’m a geek that speaks English (when speaking to non- geeks) and it means that my customers don’t have to be a geek.
My office is not paperless since I still like to scribble down ideas or notes when I’m working. However any printed material is turned into notepads so I get the most use I can from it before it’s recycled. When I’m actually designing the layout (what pages will be used) then I actually use free software called Freemind to do mind maps. A mind map is simply a diagram used to display information. I used to scribble it down but with Freemind it’s easier to move things around.
As part of the creativity process I actually use different coloured pens and when I’m doing the not so creative stuff like admin or bookkeeping I have fun pens I can use.
